SBC Vitamin ACE collection review word boutique

I’ve left this SBC review a bit longer than I’d intended because I wanted to give the products a really good chance, mainly because I adored them.

I was sent a lovely selection of products from Simply Beautiful Collection (SBC) the gorgeously silky Collagen 3-in-1 Cleanser, and from the Vitamin ACE collection, the Hydra Gel Serum, Day and Night Cream and Skincare Gel.

SBC – Simply Beautiful Smelling!

My first impression of the products was how lovely they smelled; really fresh and fruity. I couldn’t wait to get started so I used them straight away that night. The cleanser comes with a collagen-infused cleansing cloth which you use with warm water to gently wipe away the cleanser. I loved them straight away, using them in the shower every morning and at night before bed. I confess to using Clarins one step to take my make up off first though, call me weird but that’s the way I roll.

On the first day I also tried the Skincare Gel, which is designed for face and body. Again, it had a delicious fragrance, but hands up, I really didn’t like the gel texture. I used it once on face and body but to me it felt a bit sticky and I didn’t like how it felt on my skin. It might just have been me, though.

From day two I started using the Hydra Gel serum and the Day and Night Cream, twice daily, after cleansing. For the first week, my skin felt amazing, so clean and also it didn’t feel oily at the end of the day or when I woke up in the morning. I’ve been put off using serums and night creams in the past because of the greasy feel in the morning but I loved these products.

Overdoing it…

Towards the end of the second week of my new skincare regime, I started developing a rash on my chin, on my cheekbones, and bizarrely, behind my ears! This was a new thing for me, but my skin can be notoriously sensitive. I stopped using the SBC products for a few days and it cleared up, but when I spoke to Annalise from SBC, she reassured me that it was probably just my skin reacting to using everything at once!

I’ve since gone back to using the cleanser and the day and night cream, without the serum, and so far, no reactions.

Overall, I really loved the products, they made my skin feel clean, soft and hydrated. I think the key is just to try one at a time rather than bombard your face with everything at once if you have sensitive skin!
